KJA’s Kitchen Bubbles 5 at Myrtle Court

Myrtle Court is a lovely and unique street located in Wales Garden, a neighborhood just above Five Points in Columbia. The neighborhood was developed in the early 1920s and planned by the Olmsted Brothers, successors of Frederic Law Olmsted, famous for planning Central Park in New York.

The KJA Design/Interiors team were asked to recreate some sparkle and polish up an architectural gem that was built almost 100 years ago. Have a look at the before shots and afters!

On the front of the house a charming porch was opened up to lead you into a welcoming foyer.

Next came decisions on kitchen countertops, plumbing fixtures, appliances and light fixtures.

We created a new space for the wall next to the fridge, creating additional storage making it more useful and attractive.

After the building mishmash was cleaned up and the new paint was on the walls, we added a few beautifully crafted custom-made pieces to go with the owners’ existing furniture. Their artwork was a huge consideration in the choices made for everything.

We christened the house with our Kitchen Bubbles celebration and champagne.
The housewarming party that followed was a smashing success!
